Ingredients

  • 300 ml warm filtered water (8–12 ounces)
  • 1/8 tsp pink Himalayan salt
  • 1/2 fresh lemon, juiced
  • 1/2 tsp raw honey (optional)

Equipment

  • mug or glass
  • kettle or saucepan for warming water
  • spoon for stirring
  • citrus juicer (optional)

Method

  1. Warm 8–12 ounces of filtered water until it is comfortably warm but not boiling.
  2. Add a small pinch (about 1/8 teaspoon) of pink Himalayan salt to the warm water and stir until fully dissolved.
  3. Squeeze the juice from half a fresh lemon into the warm salt water and stir well.
  4. If desired, add half a teaspoon of raw honey and mix until fully dissolved.
  5. Drink slowly while warm, ideally first thing in the morning before breakfast.

Notes

Drink this mixture first thing in the morning before breakfast for a gentle hydration routine. Use only a small pinch of salt to avoid excess sodium. You can customize the drink by adding grated ginger, a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, or using lime juice instead of lemon. Stir well until the salt fully dissolves and drink while warm.
