Ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Equipment

  • mixing saucepan
  • mixing spoon
  • baking pan
  • parchment paper
  • refrigerator

Method

  1. Add peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) to a saucepan. Heat gently while stirring until smooth and combined.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  3. Add rolled oats and mix until fully coated and sticky.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips or optional add-ins if using.
  5. Line a pan with parchment paper and press the mixture firmly into an even layer.
  6. Refrigerate for 1–2 hours until firm.
  7. Slice into bars or squares and serve.

Notes

Use creamy peanut butter for smoother texture. Press the mixture firmly to avoid crumbly bars. Chill at least 1–2 hours before slicing. For variations, add chocolate chips, protein powder, or seeds. Store in the fridge for up to 7 days or freeze up to 2 months.
