Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 fresh jalapeños, sliced
  • 100 g cream cheese, softened
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Equipment

  • skillet or frying pan
  • mixing bowl
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • spatula

Method

  1. Slice the jalapeños and remove seeds if you prefer less heat. Soften the cream cheese.
  2. Form the ground beef into equal-sized patties. Create a small well if stuffing.
  3. Mix cream cheese with jalapeños and add to the center of patties or reserve for topping.
  4. Cook patties in a skillet over medium heat for 4–5 minutes per side.
  5. Add cheddar cheese during the last minute of cooking and let it melt.
  6. Top with crispy bacon and serve in lettuce wraps or on a plate.

Notes

For less heat, remove jalapeño seeds before cooking. You can stuff the burgers with cream cheese or add it on top. Cook bacon separately for extra crispiness. This recipe also works well in an air fryer at 375°F for 10–12 minutes. Let burgers rest before serving to keep them juicy.
